ARML 2026 Winter Season

My expectations for myself were somewhat high, admittedly. At the start of the season, I thought it would be fairly easy to double promote. I didn’t realized I would end the season barely in the margin for promotion. Part of it is my lack of experience with aka nashi. Some of the games I looked at with May also showed that I still make pretty common mistakes sometimes.

I think I’ll be able to do better next season. I ended up playing a lot of aka nashi this March due to Riichi Nomi’s Online Meetups and Birthday Tourney both being aka nashi. I got a lot of practice in that I normally wouldn’t. C1 pulled from a lot of C2 two for next season, even a negative scoring player, so the competition won’t be that much tougher. I’m relatively confident I can promote again easily.

Personally, the saddest part of this for me is that since May double-promoted and I didn't, I can't compare scores with her anymore. 😔

Unfortunately, I didn't fare nearly as well in Red Orange. The season is technically not over, but All Riichi No Ura didn't make playoffs, so for us it is.

I made a lot of mistakes whenever May or I looked at logs for these. I'm not sure if I had just been slacking or if, as May says, I needed someone to yell at me more, but it was rough. I could certainly log review more for these. The competition here is much fiercer here than in ARML C1 and C2, so I can't afford to play like I did last season again. I'd also don't want to drag my teammates down.
